I'm back. I've been busy gaming: I got a DS for Christmas, got recruited into World of Warcraft early in the year, and I've been taking advantage of Guild Wars' new Zaishen Challenge Quests to get the Legendary Guardian title and get the rest of my characters through Eye of the North. I also caught a cold a few times and had to get my wisdom teeth taken out.
Furthermore, I've been trying to find a better ways to draft image comments, handle mass watermarking and handle mass conversion to an 8 bit per channel format with lossless compression while optimizing dynamic range. For comments, I originally used Notepad++ to make plain text notes, I'm currently using OpenOffice.org Base. For watermarking, I keep track of which corner the watermarks go in and which colours to use (initially in Notepad++, currently in Base with the same database I use for comments), move the files into folders based on the watermark colour and location and then use XnView to watermark everything in a specific folder. As for conversion, right now I haven't found anything better than XnView, which allows mass conversion but no optimization, and Capture NX, which allows mass conversion to TIF, but doesn't allow mass conversion into a lossless, 8 bits per channel format. I'm looking into ImageMagick
I'm currently working on the Anime Evolution 2009 set. I've got nearly 200 photos to convert, crop, watermark, write up comments for and upload. As for the two sets from August, they just need to be watermarked and uploaded, but I'm putting that off until after I'm done with the AE 2009 set.
