Mr. Lawrence

This piece was a very quick impressionist take on a portrait of an old man. I started by outlining the hair with large sized acrylic paint markers then I filled in the beard, then the eyes and nose shadows. After that I used sharpie for the upper lip and a dying, old, decrepit sharpie for most of the subtle shading. I went over the light parts of the face with white paint marker. That's pretty much it. Never underestimate the power of partially dried up sharpies for shading— it's an excellent art tool!
