I am a student of people and places and I work with cities to improve the lives of those who call them home. With my art, I attempt to capture the essence of the places that I see and somehow share the impact that the make on me. I use oils primarily and the occasional pallet knife. And a I take a few pictures along the way. I am inspired by many old masters in art and in literature and they heavily influence how I experience the world- as an observer, a participant and a creator. In addition, I am an author and frequent speaker on subjects related to making cities, downtowns and neighborhoods better places for everyone.
