Back in March, I had a bout of marathon sewing to prepare for ConBust. I had a couch full, plus knitted dolls, animals and characters. It is not even September and I am all but sold out of stock. Mind you, I replenished the character dolls between conventions. This was for Conbust, Anime Boston, Boston Comic Con, ComiCONN and Bing Con. I'm really not bragging. I'm genuinely happy, grateful and blown away. This is the best problem an artist can have, and I wish it for all of you. The downside, and you crafters know this, is that crafts can be a little time consuming, knitting in particular. My next convention is Baltimore Comic Con, which i

I scroll through farcebook and come to learn that Gobble-Con was postponed to 2013. This makes Paint and Pixel my last convention. I was really looking forward to Gobble-Con as both a means to launch a few new plush and pillow projects, namely my line of cow kitties and Nyan Cat Pillows, and I liked both the convention and staff a great deal. On the other hand, a lot got sprung on me lately and to be honest, I'd like to wait on both the new stock. This past week alone, I get a 10 hat commission order from ShanaLogic, a phone interview request for Nielsen Library, and family news. This topping the news that a friend moving soon. On the plus

In August 2009, I left Owls Mirror Studio to pursue my own interests. By October, I had launched my first web comic. By May of 2010, I was on a regular update schedule, and that it might be time to start shopping around conventions. Lo and Behold, I come to find that one was starting not ten minutes from my fortress of knitted solitude. The first ComiCONN was held at a hotel in North Haven, CT and a one day event. It was pretty relaxed, but got a good amount of media coverage.
