The Owl House: Coven of Shadows

And here is the cover art for my Owl House story that will appear next week. Here is the biography of Benjamin Kingston (voiced by Yuri Lowenthal).

Benjamin Kingston was an illegitimate child born from an affair between his mom and his father, a wealthy upper-class businessman who was married. But after his mother died giving birth to him and received a letter from her asking him to raise the boy, his father decided to adopt him into his family out of some form of honor and pride despite hating to be reminded of his fling that was supposed to be just a one night stand.

15 years later, Ben would grew up into a upper-class family that hated him and was quick to be hard on him. As a result, they made him feel bad and worthless, like he didn't belong in it by his father and his step-brother and step-sister, Kyle and Susan. After taking such emotional abuse, he developed the coping mechanism of using humor to deflect any hurt he felt so as not to let anyone get too close to him to protect his feelings. But despite the hatred he went through, he had a strong enough will to endure it and the skills to prove he was worthy of being in that family, skills that he got from his father's side, making him develop a bit of an ego as he proved more of his worth to his snobby family. But one day, Ben had had enough.

One day, at School, Ben heard Kyle and Susan speaking ill of his deceased mother, prompting him to retaliate with Luz's backup snakes. As a result, Kyle and Susan ended up in the hospital to treat the poison. However, his father was furious. He beat him with his cane for his attack on his siblings, stating that he should never have been born. That was the last straw for Ben. He took his father's cane and broke it in half. He seemed ready to strike him down, but instead, he tossed it in the fire and told him, "Don't bother looking for me, old man. Because I'm never going to be a part of any family of yours ever again." With that, Ben took off away from his father, never bothering to look back ever again. But after an hour or two, he lost his way, only to find a second portal door in the dirt. But it was damaged. When Ben tried to take a look, it exploded sending him unconscious into the Boiling Isle forest. The rest, they say, is history.
