Naruto x Boruto - UNSC: Game of the Year Edition

Since Hagoromo's DLC got released today (who is a very impressive character), I decided to make this if it was actually BETTER than good. In fact, BEST.

Here is what the GOTY edition will include in the base game if it had a strong enough finish to even be counted in the Game Awards:

1. Improved History Mode: It won't be a copy and paste the way the original turned out to be. Instead, everything in the past games from the Ninja Storm series will be added into it and monumentally improved, as well as the Top-Tier Dub voices we should've had, not some A.I. nonsense we had at Launch. P.S. I noticed that Kawaki's "So long." quote in his Secret Technique was vastly improved in the update. Now, if they could just improve Konan's quote during her Secret combination with Pain. I haven't looked at it yet, but it needed to be said nonetheless. Anyway, it would also end at Naruto: The Last's story when Naruto and Hinata fight Toneri together.

2. Pre-Order Bonus: Boruto Uzumaki (End of Shinobi Age) and Kawaki (End of Shinobi Age), two characters of which would normally be acquired after completing both the Main Story and the Special Stories. I'm calling them this because of a certain DLC planned out that will be discussed later.

3. Story Mode: It will adapt the Road to Boruto storyline and dramatically improve it to be more relevant to the Boruto anime series all the way up to the Kara storyline, where we unlock the characters from Boruto and new locations to boot. For that reason, as the final boss, Isshiki Otsutsuki will still be DLC as he would be the final boss, along with Boruto (Karma Progression) or Borushiki.

4. Special Story Mode: This time, this special story mode will be what would take place after the Kara storyline, and this time, without Kurama or Sasuke's Rinnegan, they would fall completely under Nanashi's Engraved Tsukuyomi. And this time, we see how it will effect Sarada as Sakura was under the same spell as the others. And Kawaki would be more prominent in the matter in not just the fact that he was trying to get used to doing normal stuff as a teenager, but he and Amado would recall from Jigen's spying on the Ninja World through Kara that an organization named Zero is responsible for everyone preparing for the 5th Great Ninja War. Of course, they will have help in the form of Toneri and Hagoromo Otsutsuki.

Because of Boruto and Kawaki's own history with the Otsutsuki, they would be quick to be cautious, but Kawaki would be the first to straight-up fight them. However, Toneri would end the fight quickly before he explained what was going on. And it would also be explained that although Toneri was sealed, his time alone allowed him to open his mind, and thus, he has attained a higher connection with the universe and it's dealings, especially Earth's. His father, Hagoromo, will also play a bigger role as he would help Kawaki and Boruto to fully understand the history of Naruto and Sasuke as they tried to restore everyone's memories. On that note, in the Ninja World, with everyone at war with each other, the casualties would be at a much higher disastrous rate. It would be at that point when Hagoromo Otsutsuki will attempt to stall the Five Nations to buy Kawaki and Boruto time as they go on separate jumps to restore the Kiseki stones of everyone Zero's leader, Merz, tainted.

Along the way, they also dig up memories of Nanashi Uchiha (who was previously Hikari Uchiha) And yes, Kawaki will fight with her alongside Boruto when she was exposed. Anyway, Kawaki would closely relate to Nanashi for her circumstances. And while Boruto couldn't comprehend it, he still wanted to be her friend all the same like in the original game. From there, Hagoromo will combat against the ninja and knock out those who wished to fight in the name of "Lord Merz". Those who did not worked alongside Hagoromo to help bring the Five Kage to their senses. His plan worked when Boruto and Kawaki restored the memories of everyone controlled by Merz.

And on Sarada and Mitsuki's half, they end up confronting Nanashi outside, and they would duel with Nanashi as each of the Uchiha demonstrate their powers to the fullest. Of course, Nanashi would come out on top, but instead of destroying her, her flashbacks to her horrid past would flash, seeing herself in place of Sarada. She hesitated and retreated to base, leaving her and Mitsuki to recover.

From there, apart from the exception of Kawaki's inclusion, along with Sasuke and Naruto's power loss from losing both Kurama and the Rinnegan, it's pretty much the same as in the game, up until Teguse pointed out the the headpiece on Nanashi's head. Kawaki would take Bortuo's place and have his rematch with Nanashi as he tried to tell her to snap out of it. The fight ends with Boruto and Kawaki absorbing Nanashi's ultimate technique with their karma and using the amplified strength to break the device controlling her.

With Nanashi out of commission for the time being, Boruto and Kawaki both use their Karma (the former more cautiously) to fight Merz alongside Naruto (Sage Mode) and Sasuke (using his Manegkyo Sharingan). However, when Merz uses the Engraved Tsukuyomi to create his own Susano'o, Nanashi would step in, using her own Yachihoko ability on Boruto and Kawaki to give them a fighting chance as she joins in, thusly creating what would've been a new Team 7 dynamic.

Nanashi would use her own Susano'o to hold back Merz's as Kawaki punched a hole into his armor, leaving Naruto the chance to toss Boruto right at it and finish him just like Pain. With Nanashi mortally wounded, Boruto would give the chakra he absorbed back to Nanashi to help heal her. When Teguse tried to escape, Kawaki would end up erasing him straight out of existence with his Karma Discharge. Shikamaru would tell him he was crossing a line, but he sternly said that if he was left alive, he would've been a threat to the Hidden Leaf, a chance he would not take, even with his own brother.

In the end, Nanashi decided to go her own path, but she will think fondly of Boruto for the effort he made to be her friend, thus ending the story on a happier note, especially with hope that Boruto and Hikari would meet each other again.

5. New Characters - Along with what has been announced at launch, Hagoromo, Kurenai, Merz, and Nanashi will be added to the game as playable characters from the start, and we will also get a first Game Original Secret Combination with Boruto, Kawaki, and Nanashi.

6. Ninja Heroes will be a new mode where we get to either create a new character to play as and challenge others with, or carry over our data from Shinobi Strikers to fill in the gaps, including techniques that would have normally been obtainable via upgrading character proficiency (Dragon Ball Legends' Friendship Rank that would give Shallot certain moves is a good example of it).

7. To make the gameplay more unique, there will be character dialogue at the start of each fight, much like how Dragon Ball's Raging Blast games did so. Mortal Kombat is also a good example. And, we will also get cinematic clashes of every Ninja when they reach a certain climax to the battle. There will also be awakened ultimate moves called “Awakened Technique”

8. The DLC characters that will be a part of the GOTY edition moving forward will be 1. Hamura Otsutsuki. 2. Isshiki Otsutsuki 3. Code 4. Boruto (Karma Progression) 5. Kawaki (Karma Progression) And now for the additional DLC that will come in the second Season Pass: 1. Sarada (Two-Blue Vortex) 2. Mitsuki (Two-Blue Vortex) 3. Kawaki (Two-Blue Vortex) 4. Code (Two-Blue Vortex) 5. Boruto (Two-Blue Vortex).

9. Alternate Story Mode: In this new mode, players will be able to play unseen stories if they had happened differently, such as if Sakura was given Orochimaru's Curse Mark had she made the call to save Sasuke from him, or if Naruto was the enemy while Sasuke was the hero. And those branches would extend depending on the missions you've completed in History Mode and Main Story Mode. Plus, a secret story involving Nanashi will be unlocked after completing ALL of the game's modes.

These are the changes that I'm sure would've made Storm Connections a strong contender for Game of the Year. Or if not that, then at least turn it into Naruto's own Budokai Tenkaichi.
