Sharing the holiday spirit. They were ones with aliens joining in caroling and various holiday festivals they kind of like old Sergio Argonnes doodles in the corners of the old Mad Magazine. I stayed away from anything with hospitals. I did two packs of cards.
I did a poll on Christmas Specials and people said Die Hard, which is interesting choice. My favorite Special is a Charlie Brown Christmas, as my sister describe it is the only as the only special where I don't want to punch someone in the face. A friend of ours does not like it because of Snoopy booing Charlie Brown. Sh found Snoopy's actions deprieve and kind of psychotic. This year we noticed that Charlie Brown's school needs anti-bully program.
Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer between the fact the fact that Santa is kind of a jerk. Twas the Night Before Christmas where Santa goes a letter from this town about not believing in Santa. So what does Father Christmas do, send a letter to the newspaper asking the genius who does not believe in Santa what the point was? No mass punishment! No Christmas for you. I am surprised thathe did not carpet bomb the freaking town on Christmas. Hearing Santa exclaimed, "Merry Christmas in Hell!" Just warms my heart.
Someone in the poll mentioned Olive the Other Reindeer which I forgot about. This was one of the better modern specials which starred Drew Berrymore as Olive. It was a fun special. Other people mentioned Elf movie which starred Will Ferrell as a human baby adopted by an elf played by Bob Newhart. The film is terrific.
My favorite version of the he Christmas Carol is George C. Scott, I love that Scrooge has a mean streak. I like that David Warner who played Bob Cracthit who was skinny. Tiny Tim is sickly it looks like you could skip mean there for your son. I do like Patrick Stewart's version. One of the highlights is the Ghost of Christmas Present tosses Scrooge's own words right back into his face.
I really love how much Ghost of Christmas Presents throws shade at Scrooge. Plus the scene with Ignorance and Want was something I remember from some animated special of the Christmas Carol. One I was surprised the Mr. Magoo Christmas Carol which is pretty faithful adaption.
I always wondered if Marley is doomed to travel as a spirit or this a purgatory for he was an evil man. I like to think that Marley would eventually find rest.
If a run TV channel I would how every version of the Christmas Carol (Jack Palance's Old West Version and such) and every TV show that did a variation of the Christmas Carol ot It's a Wonderful Life. Like the Odd Couple with Oscar Madison as Scrooge.
