After not drawing any personal project in 3 years I thought to myself, 'what other faster and easier way to get back into the action than to choose from my pre-existing portfolio of dreams?'
But this dream was like no other I ever had before because I did not see just one artwork, but hundreds of them.
In my dream I found myself searching my way through a labyrinth designed museum. On both sides of the labyrinth hung all manner of amazing artworks. They were dreamy ; of various shapes, sizes, genres and colours. They were all wonderful pieces I had never seen before in my waking life.
I ventured further into this strange museum, glancing frantically from side to side as I was quite overwhelmed by the number and detail of artworks everywhere. I suddenly stumbled upon a part of the museum that was dome shaped and again it was adorned with artworks, spiralling up along the dome wall as far as the eye could see. I scanned the room and this piece caught my eye. It invoked my interest particularly because something about it just seemed bizarre. It was there, framed in A4 size and mounted on an antique, old looking vintage office desk. I had walked into an abandoned old office, so it seemed.
I walked over to the painting, picked it up in my hands, channelled all my focus to it and studied it hard...God did I study it in my sleep so hard my brain hurt when I woke up. Surely I was determined not to leave this place empty handed.
I woke up, scrambled for my pencil and did a sketch. It was no easy task as I was still half asleep and clinging on to fragments of the images I had just beheld.
Of course I forgot every other picture I saw in the dream.
So this is it..I humbly present the gift of angels to me...to you, only as good as my skill level. What are your thoughts? Did I choose well or maybe I should have ventured deeper into the museum of dreams..and who knows what greater treasures I could have found within its walls.
