I've been a World of Warcraft player for nearly 12 years. I spend most of my time rambling to who wants to hear it about things that Blizzard should do with their game. Sometimes, it feels like they're hearing me because they do just what I was hoping to see. As much as the Legion expansion is awesome, I'd trade all the world-quests, raiding tiers and artifact weapons for more customization options for my characters.
Blizzard has a bad habit of making art that end up in our game files but are not used. So we get to see weapons and shields just lying around in our class order halls, or used by NPCs (which is just as bad, it's like Blizzard is trolling us). I am SICK of seeing tauren druids parading in a Frostwolf transmog while my female orc shaman that I've built up for years to have a Frostwolf RP background can't use that transmog because it's leather only. What the sh!t Blizzard ?!
For years, I've known about a place where people tend to mod their game with various patches and things like that. I never wanted to get into it because these people are sick. Seriously, half the people there keep doing things like Boobzilla, just making female characters breasts/butts look bigger, or editing armors to take away the textures parts for breasts and pussies. It's tasteless, looks bad, and is WAY too NSFW for me. I was also afraid of getting banned if I used things like that, and with my 20+ characters that I've leveled to 100-110, I don't know what I'd do if I lost it all. ^^
But I've recently been convinced that, as long as you don't go editing things that can give you an unfair advantage, that as long as it only affect your own gaming experience, and as long as you don't go yelling on trade chat that you're modding your game, it's ok and game-masters aren't going to take actions against you. I've also considered that the tools used by these people can be used for greater things than just NSFW stuff. I'd like to try making HD textures for old Vanilla-BC-WLK items. I just finished making an HD version of the Paladin T4 helmet that works GREAT with the T17 paladin set. I want to do more stuff like that on my free time.
In the end, doing things like this is making me want to spend more time on characters that I would otherwise not play a lot. It feels like I'm rediscovering my characters. I doubt game-masters would tell me that it's a bad side-effect to want to play the game more than before.
You can find more of my stuff (and download it too) on a forum called Darknest Fantasy Erotica. Search for Ara's texture and model edits.
I'll try to post pictures of what I do there on Deviant Art, but no links or downloads.
