Behold the happy town of Wellington Wells! It's bright, shiny, and the people are so friendly! Everything is wonderful in Wellington Wells...right?

But what's lurking behind its bubbly exterior? What darkness is revealed when it cracks? To celebrate the release of  Compulsion Games and Gearbox Publishing's We Happy Few, we want to invite as many people as possible to visit and find out!

To achieve that, we want you to create a postcard featuring the idealized Psycho-Delic version of Wellington Wells or the dark reality underneath or a mix of both. Your design may feature a happy, welcoming slogan like "Wish You Were Here" or "Visit Wellington Wells" but is not required.

First, Second, and Third Place winners will be picked by We Happy Few's Whitney Clayton (Art Director), Sarah Hamilton (Concept Artist), and Carylitz Tamez (Environmental Artist).

The We Happy Few Contest Begins At 12:00:00 p.m. (PT - Los Angeles Time) On July 24, 2018 And Ends At 11:59:59 p.m. (PT - Los Angeles Time) On August 14, 2018 (The "Promotion Period").

  • Entrant must be at least eighteen (18) years old as of July 24, 2018 to be eligible to enter the Contest;
  • In order to enter the Contest, Entrant must follow the instructions on the Contest Site and submit a completed entry of an original artwork illustrating the town of Wellington Wells from the We Happy Few game in the size of a postcard;
  • Must be the Entrant's original work made originally and solely for the Contest and may not use stock materials, trademarks, or characters other than those from the We Happy Few game;
  • May include licensed brushes and textures, original imagery and text created by the Entrant and visual elements from We Happy Few and Wellington Wells but the Entrant may not directly copy and paste images from We Happy Few as part of an entry and the entry may not infringe the copyright, trademark, or other rights of any third party;
  • May include the word/mark "We Happy Few" and "Wellington Wells" in the title, description and tags for the Work. May not include "Compulsion Games and/or Gearbox Publishing" text, logo or title treatment anywhere within the Work itself;
  • Other requirements and restrictions apply and please read the Official Rules carefully;
  • ARV of all prizing is $8,814.73

Twenty-five (25) semi-finalists will be selected from all eligible and qualified entries by a panel of full-time DeviantArt staff, along with an independent judge not affiliated with DeviantArt, on or about August 14, 2018. The semi-finalists will be selected on the basis of:

  • Choice of setting and emotion used in the Work;
  • Use of the town of Wellington Wells and optional use of We Happy Few characters and/or travel/tourism slogans in the Work
  • Originality and Artistic Skill; and
  • Success in Portraying the Contest Theme.
  • The First, Second and Third Place Works, using the same criteria and methodology, will be selected from the semi-finalists by Compulsion Games and Gearbox Publishing Staff, along with the same independent judge who helped to select the semi-finalists.
