Why am I only finding out about this now? I'm a huge HTTYD fan. How come deviantART never advertised this?

all 3 of those are beautifully and skillfully made and all but... 1st and 3rd are like copy of style used in movies, so they kind of lack in style originality imo

Just watched the movie. By far, the worst of the trilogy.

So many characters and subplots that are so carelessly tied up:
Why is so much attention given to hobgobblers? They don't even attack Gobber before their final scene.
Why is Snotlout into Hiccup's Mom? Why is he seeking her favor?
Why is a marriage between Hiccup and Astrid made to be a point of contention? It's not even a worthwhile conflict because it only takes 2 or 3 minor conversations to be resolved.
Why is Grimmel just a more snide and calculating version of Drago?

Their isn't much conflict between Hiccup, Toothless, and the Light Fury:
Hiccup wants Toothless to be happy, but wants him to stay, but is then suddenly okay with letting him go after they defeat the bad guys? The Light Fury tries to kill Hiccup on more than one occasion, but everybody just gets over it.

The biggest problem is that none of the more serious moments have enough room to breathe. Everything is layered in a childish sense of humor.
"It's a kid's movie" is just an excuse. The first two movies had an appreciation for character growth and serious moments.

Yeah, the first was by far the best. It just went downhill from there.

As much as I did enjoy it, I'd be lying if I said I didn't see where you were coming from. There were some areas I didn't quite understand, like why Snotlout had this sudden weird interest in Hiccup' mum, which was a bit out of nowhere. I suppose it just pushed the message of growing up and letting go at a certain age, which would be aimed at a younger audience. I suppose the writers just found it fitting for a final film.

Yea, it really felt like they upped the visuals up way more but lost all the storytelling ability of the previous films.

No wonder “Fishing Companion” got first place. It closely if not completely resembles the style of the movie. (plus the story is creative and the effects are stunning!)
Congrats to the artist!
