Dia De Los Muertos

Death is so instilled in the Mexican & Indigenous cultures of the Americas that is is venerated rather then feared. It is a main character during the "Dia de Los Muertos"  Fiesta which is traditionally held on the 1st & 2nd of Nov.  During part of this  celebration, Death usually fights off the Devil & wins. Relative leave sugared skulls treats, pan de Muerto (Dead Man's Bread), Mexican Marigold, Oranges, orange blossoms  & any of the dead relative favorite food (or personal items) at their gravesides. Often families picnic in the graveyard. We may not be able to do this with our on-line friends that have passed but we can go visit their galleries & get to know them through the art they left behind.
