Symbiosis by GlendonMellow Symbiosis by GlendonMellow
I worked on this back in University. I've always been pleased with the atmosphere.

It has many images I am fond of, including the DNA candles I created and use sometimes as wedding Vanitas gifts.

The purple thing in the middle is a tardigrade (water bear).

The text on the figure's belly and head say, "This body corrodes, yet still I can move", something true of all the bacteria and microorganisms we share our ecosystem and our bodies with.

Oil on canvas, painted on a dark ground.

I freakin' love the DNA candles, not just the design, but the way they're set up in the painting. Awesome. :D
