Sage Corps Pilot

The Pilots of The Sage Corps are rather unique in how they fit into the organizations overall structure. In terms of rank, they are Officers, able to issue commands to Sage Corps Soldiers and non ranked personnel, but they have no Sage Corps Squads under their command as regular Officers do. Instead, these pilots spend their days surrounded by their fellow pilots at Sage Corps HQ, studying the new technologies that are constantly being introduced into the organization through Advisor Noric's undisclosed sources. This great technological know how is what qualifies them to take control of Salvatica's most powerful weapon; The Exeter Golem. But the powerful Exeter Golems aren't the only piece of high technology Sage Corps pilots have at their disposal. They also serve as drivers and pilots for any vehicle in The Salvatican arsenal, especially the advanced weapons of The Sage Corps. Unlike other Officers, they're often seen on base wearing their red or blue dress uniforms, and their red or blue pilot uniforms while in action. They're most often seen by non pilots wearing their Golem Piloting suit. (Shown here) This suit is designed to withstand the rigors of high atmospheric flight and extreme maneuvering. Though The Exeter Golem looks like an ungainly brute of a machine at first glance, it's capable of speeds in excess of mach 3, and extremely agile maneuvers. In addition to the Exeter's anti-gravitational and shielding systems, the piloting suit provides The Sage pilot with important protection against the forces the cockpit is subjected to under maximum performance. Because even Advisor Noric realizes the importance of a stable mind amongst any group of individuals controlling the kind of power provided by an Exeter Golem (One false shot of it's Gamma Ray cannon is just as capable of wiping an entire city off the map as any nuclear device) Sage Corps Pilots haven't undergone the extensive mental brainwashing and physical alterations that other members of the organization have. In this way, the pilots of the Sage Corps, though small, are as an island of reason in a sea of furor. But this comes at a terrible price for Sage Corps pilots. Not only are they generally despised by their fellow Sages, they have to live every moment, of every day knowing that they're under the watch of The Death Corps. An organization so secret, and so brutal, that it's name comes not from within it's ranks, but from Sage Corps pilots and personnel who've heard of members of some unknown group slaughtering Sages deemed unfit for continued service.
