Jane’s laboratory wasn’t too far away, but having to drag a drunken Selvig with him slowed him down a big deal, though it was a good exercise which allowed him to digest all he had eaten that night. Loki had managed to beat, not only the drunkard who had challenged him, but also two other men until everyone got convinced that it was a lost cause. Selvig’s drunkenness (partly encouraged by Loki himself) helped blurry those memories so that the scientist couldn’t recount any accurate detail of what had happened that night to none of the girls. Being fast at eating was one of his most prominent abilities, but also the one he was careful not to show too much.
