English:

Hello guys, fine? Another drawing completed and that took me so much time and labor. But after a long pause and revisiting the work, I came to an end. But why so much dedication? Let me explain.

This drawing has been originally designed to be modeled in 3D. I have a project idea with my friend Douglas Ferreira ([link]) that I will be concept artist and he modeler. But when the idea came out, we realized our weaknesses in order to provide a work of significant quality. Then was decided that we should practice until we reached a good level. Given the difficulties of a guy who wasn't born in a cradle of gold (music drama), I could only finish this drawing now that has more tool function of training than the idea of the project itself. To give you an idea, I have spent about 40 hours just testing. But okay, if we want to improve, we must dedicate ourselves, right? The original intention was to design a scenario, but I did not know exactly what. One night I was watching a braziliann novel called Ana Raio and Zé Trovão (ok, now you can laugh) and a picture caught my eye. I ended up adapting the idea and the drawing began to emerge. That's the digital work I'm most proud, also by the time of dedication. But I'm not satisfied. My biggest deficiency during painting are just some effects that have not quite understood how they work, or even the optimization of the work, saving time and achieving desired effects with greater precision.

Douglas Ferreira assured that the 3D version of that test will come as soon as possible. So when he is done I will do a complete update with due consideration. What excites me the most is knowing that I finally have more time available to do what I like and that there is no money to pay. No more, I hope you enjoyed and if did not like for some reason, please let me know. That way I can improve and provide superior print quality.

very nice, catched my eye.
Is funny what you say about practice, because i have found myself struggling with simple drawing, and i've been so frustrated that i decided to star practicing doing circles, lines and other basic stuff just to improve simple drawing and avoid using tools from design softwares, something about pride i guess. Keep up the good work, the only thing I would criticize would be the blur areas next to very defined areas looks weird and with that light you could really add some highlights on objetcs with dodge tools

Hello Erick, thanks for sharing your opinion about my artwork :)

I'm not quite sure if I understood you."blur areas next to very defined areas looks weird and with that light you could really add some highlights on objetcs with dodge tools". What exactly you meant by that?

with hightlights i mean pure white traces, you could add some in the iluminated area of the tree for example, try to see how it looks how they looks. dodge tool is a tool in photoshop, it helps doing highlights

Oh, this is beautiful. It looks realistic yet dramatic YET harmonic! I like the warm colours and the overall composition. The car and the rocks on the house to the right look quite realistic. Great work with the perspective, too!

You came off as an arrogant douche.. Could you please explain your perspective then?
Reply
:iconglaubart:
Glaubart Featured By Owner May 23, 2012  Professional Digital Artist
Ok!

First of all, this is not a normal perspective I imagine you are used to see. Although I make use of basic vanishing points, the angle of the terrain is not flat (within a scenario where the earth is not flat and you can see it going down as the image goes away).

From this thought, we can not think that all the elements are in the same plane (which is the idea that you are considering your example).

I hope you understand. I didn't want to be arrogant, but if you are offended I'm changing it. I'm giving you the attention you wanted.

Note: Do not approach a person you never met and criticize without having exact notion of what you are speaking. Be more respectful. For your gallery, I see that has a lot to learn and before you start to model 3D objects, you should first learn how to do them in hand.
