that makes those who do not love forget
It's already been a year and it's a fire
that burns my soul
I thought I was the strongest
I am deluded into forgetting
and instead I am here to remember
to remember you ... "
Violet Evergarden Fanfiction
There is a sky that I could sit here and tell you.
And tell you how many colors are missing when you're not there.
Intro. A month had already passed since the day when Violet and Major Gilbert had met again after a period of time in which fate had wished to separate them unjustly. The days flowed at the speed of light, since it is said that "the weather is a stormy sea", for them a hot wind of innovation, was blowing on their side and soon they would have pronounced their "Yes" before the whole community . Gilbert had decided to want her at his side for the rest of his days, and even though his state of health wavered between ups and downs, he had also decided that he would not spend even one day away from her, it would end up wearing down the his limbs and would surely perished for physical and moral pain in a short time. The fire that burned inside would certainly have died out.
Far from you, even the clearest sky is a bit dirty,
and the softer grass a little stings and scratches,
and everything seems out of its golden measure.
Violet had moved to Gilbert's house, in the meantime she was pursuing her work as an automatic writing doll, always putting the Major in first place, since in recent times her health wavered like the leaves of a tree shook by the wind. Even her mood was very fluctuating, so much so that they often ended up arguing animatedly also for nonsense ... she knew it was not Gilbert's fault, but the drugs she took to treat her internal post-war wounds. She loved him so much that many times she did not even notice, she almost idolized him ... and when he saw that he was sick, his heart was in danger of stopping because of the pain. Gilbert, meanwhile, continued to work for the army ... it was not from him to stay with his hands in his hands. He was no longer a soldier, his role was to coordinate and train recruits. Although the war was over, you had to stay on the "who goes there" and defend your homeland from a potential enemy attack.

Till death do Us part.
"Until the dark night in your heart leaves room for my feelings for you ..." A short poem recited that Gilbert was transcribing in his notebook, occasionally adding a few notes and thoughts scattered within him. It was late at night and there were only a few hours left before the big day. He slept little and badly, did nothing but think of the wonders of a future with the woman he loved, he was happy and tense at the same time ... he had never experienced such strong and conflicting emotions, but the best was yet to happen.
"Love is when you can not sleep because finally the reality is better than your dreams"
- Dr Seuss
Life is an invisible vessel and you are what you throw in it.
He throws envy, dissatisfaction, malice and will overwhelm anxiety.
Throws kindness, empathy and love and will overflow serenity.
From the day Violet had moved to her house they had almost always rested in the same huge double bed, complete with a canopy. Gilbert had initially refused Violet's idea of sleeping together as they once did, now the relationship between them had evolved and it was obvious as well as understandable that he felt a great physical attraction to her. In the end, she had managed to dissuade him and had slipped under the covers without his consent, Gilbert had initially struggled a bit 'to get used, did not want to lack respect, wanted to wait for the right time, the big day, to be able to go further ... to become one with her. From that day they always slept side by side, he had never dared touch her with a finger, he was respectful not only of tradition, but above all of the woman he loved. He would have waited, it would have been worth it. They had never missed the kisses between them, moments of affection or sharing ... since Gilbert was miraculously back alive by the war, she had been very close to him, almost out of fear ... for fear that he could disappear like the vision of an oasis in the desert, for fear that his weakness and physical malaise might somehow take him away from her forever. Violet would never allow it, she could not live with the knowledge that he could not hold her hands anymore. The dawn of the big day came, when Violet got out of bed Gilbert had already come out for a long time, but in return he had left a note with a red rose hanging on his bedside table: "I can not see the bride, as usual See you on the altar, together we will transform the willows into lotus flowers, Yours forever, Gilbert. " Violet, reading that brief message, took heart from the fact that he was not there with her at that moment, had gone to Hodgins' house to get dressed and dress properly. A few moments later, Cattleya and her friends from the post center entered her room and helped her get ready for the "Yes" she would have said in a few hours. Gilbert arrived in church very promptly, in good time, along with his brother Dietfried and his friend from the Military Academy. Tears of joy, involuntary, began to flow from his emerald-green surviving eye as he waited for his Violet to stand in front of the altar. The Cathedral was immense, in a short time it was filled with friends, relatives, companions, simple curious and acquaintances. When the bride arrived, wrapped in a simple white mermaid dress, with a long train accompanied by a voluminous veil, they all turned towards her, enchanted ... she was beautiful. Gilbert stared at her in his pearly white tuxedo, as she approached him with elegance, slowly. Violet petals began to fly from the side aisles. It was an exciting ceremony, full of pathos and sentiment. Their final speech moved even Dietfried, even though he had a character set and did not easily show what he felt. Violet: "I promise to be faithful to you always, in joy and sorrow, in health and in sickness, to love you and honor you all the days of my life." Gilbert: "I, Major of the army of Leidenschaftlich Army, solemnly swear that I will make you happy I will make of you my friend, my confidant, my wife, what I love most in the world I promise you that I will live for you only I will spend the rest of my days by your side, help you raise our children ... because I love you with all my heart Violet Evergarden. " With the promises exchanged, Gilbert and Violet anticipated the words that the priest was about to say "you can kiss the bride". At that point they were husband and wife, nothing and nobody could separate them.
At the launch of the bouquet, Cattleya found it in her hands and smiled, turning to Hodgins: they would be the next to get married. After a busy day of celebrations, both Violet and Gilbert were cooked by exhaustion but happy. They retreated to their room late at night, when all the guests were dismissed. Gilbert seemed more tired than usual, he had used all his energy to make that unforgettable day ... he wanted everything to be perfect, from clothes to guests. Violet: "Gilbert I see you tired, are you sure you feel good?" He told him with a veil of concern when they were finally alone. Gilbert: "I could not feel better, now that I'm alone with you." He said trying to misdirect the conversation as he lay down on soft blankets of pure red silk.

Gilbert: "Incredible ... I still feel pain after all this time ..." Violet: "What have you got?" He said worriedly, seeing him as white as a sheet. Gilbert: "I feel chest pains, you know I'm still in rehab ... but it's nothing serious, really." He said trying to convince himself and convince Violet that the strong and unstoppable man of the past would soon be back. Violet crouched next to him and with one hand raised his left arm slightly and crouched down. He squeezed her, drawing her to him, to forget the pain he was feeling inside him, but he spent a short time and felt another pang ... even more violent and his face turned white. Violet: "Gilbert, what is it? You start thinking ... I call a doctor?" Gilbert: "Another dense, my body is still accusing the blows that have been inflicted on the battlefield ... the time has passed, but my limbs are stopped to that day and it will take some time before I can also win this battle ... "He said with a veil of melancholy, then continued:" You have nothing more to fear, nothing to worry about ... My love, I'm alive, I'm here ... I'm with you! And it's the only thing that really matters to me. " Violet felt the beats of his heart reach her throat like a hot spring that spills over a frozen lake. Then these were precisely the effects of love. He turned to him and looked him straight in the eye ... still could not understand it, it was hard to believe that the wonderful man had fought against death to return to her. He had saved her and now he held her in his lean but muscular arms, gently ... as if she were the philosopher's stone capable of making sense of her life, a flower with delicate petals. How much he loved him, he could never express it in words. Gilbert approached her with the excuse of brushing her hair before his blue eyes like the sea and saw her shed tears of joy, hearing the sweetness with which he had uttered those words. Gilbert kissed her and shortly after they found each other, so close that they could hardly breathe. Finally, after years of waiting, they did what desire dictated to their hearts covered with scars: Love. It was the first time for her, she had never felt anything like it, nothing more overwhelming. Violet felt like a woman, alive as she had never been before. He had always been a gentleman, he knew he would protect her despite being in a fluctuating and unstable physical state in some respects. Gilbert was delicate and kind, he would never do anything that she herself did not crave. Violet felt safe by his side, was happy, knew that he could show him every side of himself and that he would accept it with benevolence. He would never abandon it, he knew it well.

After a night of passion they woke up among the white lights of dawn. Gilbert: "Good morning Mrs. Bougainvillea, did you sleep well?" He said as he winked at her. Violet: "I would like to sleep a little longer." Ehmm "She replied, amused and a little sleepy. Gilbert: "Rest, rest, I'll be here to watch over you from now on." Violet embraced him from under the covers, giving him a dazzling smile, an anticipation of their future together. Gilbert: "Do you know something?" Violet: "And now what is it?" Gilbert: "Do you want to know? If not, I'll keep it for me ..." He said, pretending to be serious, even though at that moment he had an easy smile. Violet: "What Gilbert?" Gilbert: "I love you, Violet Evergarden."
