Watercolor practice 3 - Koi

And last one of the art spam for today.   Hope I can keep things updated more often now. 

This month I managed to get some new art materials (which kinda explains why I have been lurking around for a while XD), including different papers and tools which will probably appear on future works as soon as I finish them. And I finally found proper watercolor paper, haha. 

This is a bit messy at some points and I have the feeling I squished this poor koi carp (the paper sheet is very small) but I'm rather fascinated at how watercolor pencils work and how the colors blend together, definitely excited to practice more. 

Didn't have a proper reference for this one aside from a few photos I took of some koi in a pond, so the anatomy may be a bit wonky.
Done with watercolor pencils and a medium water brush.
