The first thing I notice in this piece is a great control of lines. They flow nicely yet still hold a sketch quality that is quite beautiful. Tones and blending are well-done. Watch your composition and setting, its a bit to stark, where the composition doesn't really make my eyes move throughout the picture. Your drawn directly to the face and its hard to turn from that possibly because of the high detail. The expression you chose I question a little as it doesn't excite nor perk interest in my view. I would also consider adding some shadow to the back so he has some support and a bit more to hold him down, he's kinda floating in space. Altogether though, its a great drawing.

My god, you evoke Thranduil's natural disdain for every lower lifeform (which might be *every* other liveform) with every line of your drawing.  I can *feel* his sneer from here, even though he actually looks damn calm.  It's the posture, i think.  He also has a touch of melancholy.  The whole piece is pretty amazing.

Guh. I just LOVE black and white on toned paper, and this is so beautifully done it looks almost photographic. This could be improved by extending that background lineart that you've got going already, so that he looks more grounded. Right now, he appears to be floating on an invisible chair. Still, this is gorgeous. :)
