Happy new year everyone! I'm looking forward to 2017 so much! I have so many goals I'm excited to tackle and, hopefully, I've organized them in a way that I can get them done!
So I want to self-publish my novel "Realms and Remedies". The deeper I dig into the publishing industry, the more convinced I am that self-publishing is the way for me to go, in spite of the "not good enough for a traditional publisher" stigma that goes with it, which is untrue. I've read some pretty awful traditionally published books, as well as some stellar self-published books. In the end, regardless of publisher, it all comes down to the author's ability. Whether my book succeeds or fails, in the end, I want to be the sole owner of my book. Because I think it's really good.
So I've been looking at self publishers, and narrowed my options down to four. I was wondering if any of you have any experience with these publishers.
If you've worked with any of these publishers, which one would you recommend? Pros and cons? I plan to publish both physical and e-books (and an audio book, which I'll do through Amazon). Of course I'll be creating my own cover and illustrations, but everything else I'll have to depend on the publishing packages offered by these publishers.
I'm hoping to have the first book available in 2018. There's still some more editing (eternal editing!) to do. And I need to get started on the illustrations and the cover. Before I can do that, I need to know what the format of my book will be, so I've got to pick a publisher first.
I hope everyone has an awesome 2017!
