I, for one, believe that art is all about expression. There are many forms of expression, but ultimately it has to make you feel. Isn't that what art is suppose to do?
make us think, challenge us to ask ourselves how do we feel about what we see? Translate our vision to feelings. Every little thing can be expressive.
But, do we all try to express something with our work?
Looking at something beautiful or ugly can be expressive, as long as it not just showing it but making a statement. Transferring the atmosphere, putting an angle on things, making us look differently at the world. Isn't it expressive?
It's all a matter of what we are trying to show. Of our intentions while taking the photograph. I don't care what kind of a camera you have, If you thought we all want to see your dog, or your dinner. Put some creative effort into your work.
Think
Feel
Express

Wonderful work of long exposure during sunset.
It's been a while since I saw this being done with this high quality of technique and composition. This is an example of how landscape can make you feel. That's expression and that's art.

A beautiful shot, but even a better title. That title adds the expression to the piece, and fills it with a story. I adore that.

Minimal urban shot, made of mainly sky.. yet brilliant in the way it looks, the tones, and the meaning showing it as a view of a traveler.

A story of friendship, and maybe even love. The holding hands is only a part of it. The fact the view is open to where they are heading, the composition giving them space, the colors tones and the clarity.. it all adds to that feeling.

And this is a whole different expression.
A bathroom, alcohol bottle with one glass, a woman's leg sticking out of the bath (how important it was to show so little to get the expression...). The fact the platform shoe is still there suggests a story, one you can make up yourselves.

A very unique landscape and a great title to suggest a "Parallel World".
It is very crisp and dreamy. I love it.

A simple scene really, but looks so good with the composition, angle and colors. Good technique makes the difference here.

It looks divided to two frames at first.. but it's not.
It's a brilliant composition of an urban shot, perfectly timed. Plenty of details and a lot of atmosphere. Great work!

Interesting portrait.
Not the typical child shot. More details and expression. She seems very cute, but also strange in a way I can't explain. A little something like the "Mona Liza" smile

A story of a road trip. One that will still go on for a while. Looking at this girl, I'll be willing to take that trip with her, at least for a short while. Great perspective here, from her (and ours) point of view. I love that little twist of the leg.
