Over the last few months one of the few moments of relaxation I get is going to the movies. Unfortunately, I usually wind up coming out more agitated than when I went in. There are the rare gem, but it's far and few between the poo that's squeezed out of Hollywood these days.
I'll start off with the positive.
Do- see Faster starring The Rock. I saw the screening on Monday and it is an entertaining, straightforward and well written film.
Don't- see [b]Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1</b>. Unless you're going for the Green Lantern trailer that's showing before the movie. And even then, I'd recommend just watching it online. It almost always goes without saying that the books are better than their film counterparts (see I am Legend-or rather, DON'T) but I think this was especially true for ole Potter.
Maybe- see The Last Three Days with Russell Crowe. Caught the screening for this too, nobody plays a man who got crotch-punched by life better than Crowe. Enjoyablke, but by the end of it I did find myself saying 'Really?' about some of the chase outcomes.
DO NOT- I repeat- DO NOT see Skyline. To completely misquote a funny animated squid, "Thank you Skyline, for taking my hopes of America establishing an entertaining Monster genre and breaking it into tiny bite sized pieces."
The other me:
How about Red, did you see that one? It was awesome, had the funniest movie ending ever.
