A commission piece I did for Tony Fowler, of Tony provided the art and I provided the colors!
Tony is currently working on a toyline called Backyard Legends, and is focusing on updating characters who may never have a chance to get that next generation reboot franchises like He-Man, Thundercats, etc. have been receiving. You can check out their facebook page here. Tony was an awesome guy to work with, and I hope his toyline takes off like a rocket.

i like this a lot. it's an interesting departure from what i think of as your "normal" style. (but i like your normal style too!)

would love to se you take on other obscure 80's properties. :D

Many thanks! I can only take credit for the coloring though, Tony Fowler did all the line work :) I completely forgot to specify in the description, gotta fix that.

The concept of a man made of crystal is quite original and cool, but I am specially pleased for the vintage look on him, strongly related to the 80´s heroes designs ^^

This one of the things I miss about the 80's, it was chock full of crazy ideas that somehow managed to work no matter how out there they were.

I totally agree. There were less bounds and less limits....

So what is he from?

An old toyline/comic from the 80s called Crystar. Not a bad update methinks.

Ah I see, thanks. This requires some research :)

..... he looks like Ted Turner's 90s Green Child... only more Conan the Barbarian...
