I found you in a hedge, just 6 weeks old

You were tired and hungry and very cold

You buried yourself under my hair

As I gently carried you up the stair.

Slowly I stroked your spiky fur

You stopped hissing and began to purr.

As you grew you followed me

Wherever I was, you would always be.

Your favourite game was chasing butterflies

And letting me know you had caught your prize!

The years rolled by and you grew so thin

Your yowls for food were a hell of a din,

Finally the day came, I suspect you knew

That it was the day we were going to lose you,

You were relaxed and grateful it was the end

But we will all miss you my little friend.

Though we all cry buckets of tears

Nothing can bring back our little 'Radar Ears'

Chase butterflies in heaven our little NuNu

And know we will always love and miss you.
A tribute to Nikita, who recently passed away [link]

Written by my mother-in-law and uploaded with permission.

I can't believe how hard it was to upload this. I don't understand any of the categories in the poetry section. Still not sure it's in the right place, so please tell me if it isn't and where to move it and I'll do so asap.

(FINALLY got around to reading this ugh I am so far behind on everything.)
What a sweet poem! ^^ She did a very nice job with it, and what a nice tribute to a beloved pet. I'm sorry for your loss; losing a pet is hard, I still remember when we lost our cat when I was a kid. But at least you have lots of good memories. =)

(And I never pay a lick of attention to whether or not things are in exactly the right category. XD No one really seems to pay attention as far as I can tell.)

Sadly we're having a bit of bad luck with animals at the moment. Sue got a uterus infection so we had her spayed. Unfortunately while the op went well, they found a suspicious mass inside her and blood on the anesthetic tube when they pulled it out. Turns out she has lung cancer so we're going to be losing her soon too. I couldn't bring myself to write a journal about it so close to writing the journal about Nikita.
We had a similar problem last time when we lost Max and Isis in the same week. I just hope we don't have to say goodbye to our last two so close together when their times come.

Some people do. I've had stuff moved in the past. Mostly sketches I've put into a category in my main gallery that get moved to scraps. I don't like to put them in scraps because not all my watchers watch my scraps.

As a fellow cat owner, this brought tears to my eyes! It's amazing how attached we can get to our furry friends T_T

I hope you and Electric are coping okay!

Rest in peace Nikita.

They are a part of our families just as our blood relatives are.

And sadly soon we will be losing another one. Our dog Suzi has just been diagnosed with lung cancer.

Oh my goodness, my heart goes out to you and your family. Losing two pets in close proximity to one another, I don't think I could deal with that pain.

And I'll agree with you there - my cat, Katie, is my little sister. She's just as annoying as one and she always barges into my room without asking. XD Just like a little sister!

Sadly this is not the first time either. Last time we lost Isis and Max in the same week.

XD Tigger's like a little brother. Apparently :iconelectricfox5: wouldn't let him out so he once came in to the living room, pulled the scratching post over, shot him a dirty look then walked off.

This just gets more and more sad the more you tell me about it D:

Katie's like that. She goes in a mood with us if we go on holiday - she'll refuse to come near us for a couple of hours and then she's all over us XD
