Strike Wolf by GhostLiger Strike Wolf by GhostLiger
One of my favourite customs from my collection, mainly because of how I came to make it in the first place:

I discovered a very forlorn looking NER Command Wolf Irvine sitting in a 99p bag of tat at my local Oxfam shop.
On first appearences it didn't look to be in very good shape. At least one of it's legs was missing, as was the large dorsal gun.
It's so sad to see a Zoid in that fashion so I bought it! Sitting in the car, waiting for Dad, I decided to see just how bad off it was... it was worse than I thought:

Wolfy Pre-Customization

The gun wasn't just missing, the whole peg had been snapped off and both its smoke dischargers were also missing! Also, whoever had built it was inexperienced with building Zoids. I could tell because they'd neglected to remove the flash (The part left over after removing the part from it's frame)
Honestly, I didn't know what to do with it when I got it home, until I sat there and look at it a while...

After that I was struck with inspiration and this is the finished result (Still needs a little re-touch of paint though)

Total Zoids used in Custom:
  • NER Command Wolf Irvine (Main body)
  • NER Shadow Fox (Front two legs, inc feet and shoulder armour and black caps)
  • 2 NER Zaber Fangs (Grey part on the back of the neck and guns on tail)
  • NER Shield Liger (Missile Launchers on shoulder armour)
  • NER Blade Liger (Small long thin part inbetween the two big guns)
  • Z-Builders Ray Saurer (Big guns)
  • NER Sledge Head (Small gun on chest)
  • BLOX Buster Eagle (Connectors which make the legs posable)
  • NAR Berserk Fury (Not noticable, but I cut off two parts from a Fury's tail armour to cover up the holes left by the missing smoke dischargers!)

Very nice. It conveys a simple-aesthetically pleasing first appearance that draws you in to the true mount of love and detail that went into building it. The story behind was touching as well.

Ya, but he's happy now, living it up with my Zaber customs!

Though, his chest gun fell off... ^^; Too much roughhousing I think!

My god you are my hero!!! I did the same thing. Only my wolf commander is a light blue and my newph got it. It took me a year to hunt down the right parts to fix it without killing another one of my zoids. >.> I am like a nerd, but my commander wolf is in good shape and so is yours.

If you think that is sad. I worked at the Disney store and Nemo, a big fish plush from the movie finding nemo was going to be thrown out, but it was the same nemo i had been working on when learning how to work the cash register. So I bought him. :) He is now on my bed with a beaten up eevee from a thrift shop

:floating: I always wanted to paint a Command Wolf light blue and with black parts, but every time I got a wolf to do that I ended up Darthing the parts for something else ^^;
It's always far too tempting to hack part of your collection to pieces, especially if the Zoid you want the part from is difficult to get hold of!

It's nice to know there's someone else out there that feels sorry for inanimate objects :D I once bought a big shire horse ornament simply because it was labled as "Imperfect" (Turns out the only problem with it was a small spelling error on its harness... It says Fleup instead of Fleur. I don't mind, I love my Fleup!)

On a related note, I went into T.J Hughes not so long ago to get a Holotech Raynos for a friend (only they'd sold out) and I discovered two of the Zoids on the shelf (a Black Rhimos and a Gravity Wolf) were open! The Rhimos was missing it's motor, instructions and probably a lot else, and the wolf was completely build. I took them to the counter to offer to take them off the store's hands for a discount, and you know what? They refused on the grounds that the Zoids were already discounted enough! They may well have been discounted, but that doesn't mean they can expect to sell incomplete kits for the price of a complete one!

Wow. That really gets me. Oh well. You did a good deed lol. I always by broken things. Like a bear missing his two front legs {ornament] and I had to buy it all full price, but I figured, why let the bear suffer for there stupidity? He was never going to get a home at his price and they broke him in the first place. That really pisses me off!

I'm terrible like that... I once bought a brand new Hammer Head, even though I already had one, simply because it was the last Zoid in the store and I thought it might be lonely! I can always find uses for the extra parts though ;)
I saw your Saix, and commented on it! It looks good!

Thanx ^_^ Zoids are hard to find around here anymore since they carried the Hasbro models and they no longer make them @.@

Yeah, we ended up with all the Hasbro cast offs in discount stores here in the UK! I went into TJ Hughes not so long ago. They had absolutely tonnes of Hasbro Command Wolf Irvines, Holotech Raynos, Black Rhimos, Gravity Wolf and Gravity Ptera! The funny thing is that the only sign says "Gravity Saix 3" but there has never ever been a Gravity Saix on their shelves ^^; We ended up with some of Hasbro's unreleased Zoids too, like Black Seismosaurus, Power Mantis, Power Mammoth and Jet Falcon.
