Restored Tetsusaiga by GhostLiger Restored Tetsusaiga by GhostLiger
A Banpresto InuYasha plush doll :aww: Rescued this little guy off eBay recently (well I say little, he's about 11inches tall). He's in not too bad condition, but as you can see from the top picture, there was some damage to Tetsusaiga (his sword).

I wasn't quite sure how to go about fixing this problem at first. It seemed the solution was going to be paint, right up until I left work and popped into the small Haberdashery in town. Luckily they had a roll of silver dress silk, so I bought some and just wrapped some around Tetsusaiga.

It's not the best stitching work I've ever done, but it was all done (lovingly) by hand.

I'm pleased with the result anyway :icongrin--plz:

I realized after I'd done my handiwork that I hadn't taken any really clear photos of the damage to Tetsusaiga, so here are a couple from the eBay listing: [link] and [link] (both these photos belong to eBay member: whitesk46)

Again, please note that I did not make the plush doll! It was made by the good people at Banpresto who make awesome plushies!
I merely attempted to repair the wear and tear damage on Tetsusaiga

He is isn't he :D He's the cutest looking InuYasha Plush I could find on eBay, which is why I was able to overlook the damaged Tetsusaiga.

You did a darn good job. Better than what I can do! I've repaired my own jean, pillowslip, etc etc and they just come apart again :| :P

Ooh, Shadow Plushie? :B I want to do a Kokita one XD

Thanks :D The most I've ever done prior to this was repairing holes in stuff.

Hmm, I think it depends what stitching you use. I'm a big fan of the "back stitch" (tis what I used to stitch up the length of Tetsusaiga), but it's not always the appropriate one for repairs.

Yup, just gotta get the fabric, and work out how to put eyes on...

Lol, I only know of the back stitch because I learnt to use it from a plush mouse kit.

Thanks, but, if I have, they're very unpolished ^^;

Hopefully that'll change though if/when I finally get to making those custom plush dolls (I need a Shadow doll :slamhead:)
