Open Canvas colour testing by GhostLiger Open Canvas colour testing by GhostLiger
The whole "Dodge" and "Burn" thing is getting old for me and I'm starting to get weary of the effect I'm getting from it ^^;

So, I thought I'd try a little colour practice with the watercolour brush in Open Canvas.

It sucks, I know, but it was just a quick test to see what all the fuss about OC was about :D

Shadow and art test belong to me

Ya, problem is, I've never really been able to do it like that again TT_TT

Open Canvas is quite good for lineart cuz you can twist the angle of the picture without officially rotating it, to make it easier to draw on.

Well the way I started was to scan my picture then open it in Photoshop. I selected "layer>New Layer" which puts something like a piece of transparent paper over the top of your picture. You can then use this to trace over the lines of the drawing without affecting the original picture :D

Nice!

My damned OC decided to shut itself down after I tried to save a work I started a month ago -_-

Ya, You should be okay if you just keep with the keyboard shortcuts ;) Mine actually got into the habit of closing the picture everytime I asked it to add a new layer, but it was fine if I added a new layer using Shift, ctrl and N :D

Now, you see, I'm completely the opposite. I can't do traditional colouring to save my life -_-

Ugh, scanners are terrible for that!

*hint* use the burn tool very sparishly at the edges and you get a darker, shadowy.. curl effect that I love about hair.
