Literature Text

He stared up at the sky
With his back against the wall
Fresh-lit cigarette in his mouth
As he Gazed at the stars

He's done what you couldn't
Did the deed of the throne
With dried blood on his hands
Kill him off or send him home

He stands behind a table
Political pawn to his side
He's the scapegoat to a nation
He's alone to pay the price

He's done what you couldn't
Did the deed of the throne
With dried blood on his hands
Kill him off or send him home

He spent his last days
Alone in a  metal cage
So the people of his nation
Could be Resistant to change

He's done what you couldn't
Did the deed of the throne
With dried blood on his hands
Kill him off or send him home

His funeral was brief
A few words of his life
No flowers on his tombstone
Just a message of Sacrifice

"He's done what you couldn't
Did the deed of the throne
With dried blood on his hands
Kill him off or send him home"

Loving the repetition- it's a hard thing to pull off but you did it well.
