What are Ghosouls?

Ghosouls are reclusive creatures that wander around and collect souls. They are normally found wherever the dead rest; cemeteries, hospitals, abandoned buildings, disaster areas, etc., etc. Being both nocturnal and very asocial, being seen by humans is very rare. According to legend, if a human does see one, it is a sign that a major tragedy/disaster is coming.

Ghosouls themselves were originally borne from long lost souls that never found peace. In modern times, they breed just like any other animal species.

All Ghosouls have souls floating around them. It's commonly believed that these souls are either lost loved ones, or souls that are not yet ready to pass on. Their own souls are located at the ends of their tails. If these souls are ever detached from them, they will die. Otherwise, Ghosouls can live up to 400+ years.
DFAB Ghosouls are generally larger and more aggressively tempered, whereas DMAB Ghosouls have smaller builds and are usually calmer and more compassionate. Intersex-born Ghosouls don't have any specific traits aside from the obvious, and may take on the appearance and temperament of either of the two "types" previously mentioned.

Other distinctive traits include:
- Black sclera
- Cross-shaped pupils
- Strong back legs
- Stubby front feet
- Detached heads
- Gemstones on their foreheads
- Stitches all over their bodies
- Tall + lean builds
- Various transparent areas on their sides, faces, or legs

All Ghosouls have hollow bodies, as this is where they store the collected souls. Collected soul "substance" can be seen flowing between the head and body, as well as in the transparent areas.
