Pulse, a massive fortress city, lies on the shores of the three lakes opposite the city of Lanis. Its forges have brought the people of the world out of their lives of drudgery and into the arms of industrial progress. Engineers and inventors of Pulse have driven technology forward and are responsible, or so they claim, for the discovery of the Arcanik Drive.
Founded on strict militaristic principles, there are four structured branches within Pulse. The Air Navy, the Ground Assault Response, The Arkanik Gliders Division, and the National Defense Force. Each housed in one of the four formidable and intimidating black towers dominating the skyline over each of their respective districts.
The city center, a heavily guarded district, shrouded in secrecy, boasts the largest tower in Pulse. It is here, in this seldom traveled sector, that lies the Heart of Pulse and its military masterminds. Surrounded by the four towers of it’s power, the city center runs all of Pulse with a precise and efficient iron fist.
The view inside the in-scalable walls of Pulse city, is orderly. Roads and walkways are lined out with precise measurements. The buildings, uniform in design, are laid out in a wheeled grid pattern for the highest efficiency. Each sector is regulated by one of the four branches. Housing units are found in the shadows of the intimidating Pulse’s towers. Radiating outward you find the business sectors, followed by the market places, the warehousing districts and lastly, ringed in on all sides by the great wall, are the industrial units and massive forges of Pulse.
One thing to note of Pulse, it’s five imposing towers and high impregnable wall are in a constant state of slow, methodical flux. That is to say, without the interference of man, the massive towers and enclosing wall are expanding. While the growth is lethargically gradual, it cannot be denied. How this is possible, or what it may mean is beyond anyone's ability to say however.
Just outside the great, reinforced wall of Pulse lies the rest of the city. Officially documented as Outer Pulse, the Slums as it is known by most, is as much of a blight to the city, as it is a necessity.
Clustered around the massive industry exhausts and sewer outlets of Inner Pulse, the Slums have grown over time to encompass a wide area surrounding the Wall, a veritable shanty town housing many destitute and forlorn members of Pulse society. While life is harsh on the outside of the wall, beauty, tenderness and even love can be found if one knows where to look.
