Sonic Freebound Ep. 1 (Pilot)

My reimagining of Sonic the Hedgehog returns with a re-written pilot screenplay!

Ever since Mysterious Animator X supposedly was going to make a new version of Sonic I got inspired to make my own take based on the Ben Hurst animated series The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog (also known as SATAM because of it taking place on Saturday mornings). That particular version of the NUMEROUS takes on Sonic's characters and world intrigued me for being a surprisingly dark concept revolving around a post-apocalyptic future. I love juxtapositions and combining anthropomorphic characters and humor with a genuinely horrific in many ways scenario is something I like writing about: the comparison of hope and despair, naiveté and wordiness, animal and human.

Also it's fun to write sci-fi action stuff. So sue me.  

Anyway the original drafts of my Sonic reimagining (then called Sonic Freedom Fighters) were lost when my account got wiped although an old friend was EXTREMELY NICE to save and send me some of my materials. This opening sequence in my original first episode wasn't an episode by itself but by the time I hit twenty pages I figured at that point this stopped being the opening of a separate episode and became like a pilot instead. 

So here is my version of how Sonic's first mission into Robotropolis might have gone. I hope it's enjoyable and if people like it I might try and recover some of my older work in the same vein or rewrite some old or new episodes if people aren't thoroughly sick of my take on this universe.
