Robotnik: The Stages of Tyranny

This is based on the Sonic: Freedom Fighters fan continuity (a darker approach to the Sonic the Hedgehog story)
He began as The Breaker's Boy, just another lowly worker in the tunnels of a bunker city. Often ignored for his small stature and wild ideas he spent his time alone developing sophisticated robotics, automating the drudgery of his work and improving the lives of his fellow humans but also developing a taste for absolute control.

Sergeant Kintober survived the second war of Up and Down, bartering his knowledge to the mutant Mobian enemy for his life. In secret he manipulated and gathered influence over the very empire convinced he was a slave...until the time came for an uprising facilitated by the machines he had woven in Mobian society, and turned against them in a single night. He became champion of his race and led a revolt that he promised would bring equity and ultimately peace. 

Dr. Robotnik now presides as undisputed ruler of the most powerful city on the planet: the machine marvel Robotropolis, built on the ruins of the Mobian capital. He runs the city as ruthlessly as he might have his robotic underlings in the past, but he is unsatisfied. There is still the rampant inelegance of life plaguing his mind, the infuriating lack of control that comes from free will. One day he will see to it the last holdout of independency is crushed out by pure and unerring metal and wires.
