Argon the Bard

A picture for another storyline I was playing with. No title yet.

The truth mattered less than what people were willing to spend their time listening to. A lowly bard could become the toast of the town if he spun a yarn big and brassy enough to interest the masses.
Argon had no other talents then lying. He wasn't particularly good at playing the lute, singing, working or even gambling (although he spent a majority of his time doing the latter). One day his desire to get rich quick exceeded his gold supply and he acquired a loan from a shady organization to keep up his habit. The next throw could finally turn things around and he could quit having to live hand to mouth between tall tales belted out to drunken patrons.
But luck didn't smile and Argon was faced with the choice to lose a couple of fingers (which could REALLY impact his career) or write a song for the ages to make up the debt. He lied that he could manage this, even promising a popular tragic epic within the year.
Argon however has no muse: everything he's ever written was ripped wholesale from his own experiences, with a little tweaking.
In order to write THE definitive tragic tale he'd need to track down a group of hapless naive dopes and follow them around until their ambitions destroyed them in spectacular fashion.
Unfortunately for the bard that also meant accompanying them on their doomed mission. 
And, if by chance the adventurers start to succeed in their mission, he might be inclined to force the hand of fate so that events end appropriately grimly.
