Naucean - Fan art type thing by generalley-cool Naucean - Fan art type thing by generalley-cool
OK, i'm not sure wether to class this as fan art, as I never actually planned to put it up here.

See, basicly, this started as a random sketch and, after a few lines, I decided it looked like it was going to turn into a Naucean, so I went with that.

I was pretty happy with the sketch, but never really planned to colour it, or put it up.

So the other day, surfing the forums, I noticed a few people had allready done fan art of the creature, and I decided, eh, what bad could it do? So I fired up PSP and decided how to colour it.

Looking through his work, hydro *seems* to use water colours, although I could be mistaken, but thats the way I decided to go with this.
I left the pencil lines visible, without actually going over them like i have done before, which I actually really like as a style.
Each colour shown has its own layer, all about 50% transparent, and each colour taken pretty much straight from hydro's pics of the naucean, just for authenticity.

The aim wasn't to make one that looked like he'd done it, but to do it in a style somewhere between the two of ours.

Naucean was designed by for Spore, and is probably the best known of all fan created creatures.

I've heard about this Spore game...any idea what consoles it'll be on? I might want to try it out, designing alien species is fun!

Definatly PC, and they have suggested that it will be on all the next gen consoles (360, revolution and ps3). There were also adds put up and alot of talk from the company about a version for both DS and PS-P.
Heh, gonna be limited choice, eh?

Oh good, I was worried it might only be for consoles. XD I only have a Gamecube (and N64 and PS1, but I was a bit skeptical about Spore getting released on those).
