Group Info

The term genderqueer, if you didn't know, refers to anyone who exists outside of commonly accepted gender identities (that is, male and female) and stereotypes. Here's the Wikipedia article for more information.

Here at the Genderqueer Club, we don't care at all what gender you are or aren't. The one thing we will not tolerate is bigotry. You have a problem with third gender or genderqueer or confused people? Fine. But please keep your comments to yourself. We don't get uppity about the fact that some people identify solely with male or female, or whatever it is you call yourself. We expect you to show us the same courtesy.

To Submit Art

If you would like to submit artwork to the club, please remember that this is a Genderqueer Club and therefore only gender-related submissions will be approved.

ALL FORMS OF ART ARE ACCEPTED HERE as long as the piece relates in someway to the club's audience. (That is, genderqueers.)

On the "Gallery" tab, members should be able to see a "Submit to this Gallery" button. If this button does not appear for you, contact :icongreyorion: GreyOrion.

Some Suggestions:

Does your art keep getting rejected? Look at your work. Is it related to gender identity issues?

If you know your work is related to genderqueers but this isn't obvious from just the work itself, try explaining the connection in the artist's comments. We always thoroughly read before rejecting a piece; we don't want to miss out on something that shouldn't be rejected!
This has been a problem for me since I first started working for the group, so I felt that I should come and ask you all for opinions.

Should we accept images of people crossdressing?

Though I can see the argument that people who do so are breaking gender norms, it feels like the act of "crossdressing" means that you are not genderqueer but, instead, are simply wearing clothing typically designated to another gender for theatrical, artistic, or sexual purposes.

What do you all think?

Thanks for adding  me to the group! I'm a gq person who started off as a transman, who later identified with femininity, except for that pesky part of identifying as female. So now I'm stuck in a limbo where people are accusing me of detransistioning (not fair). It's complicated is my go to answer for everything. Blech.

Did you come here just to be offensive to people who identify differently than you, or do you want to ask a question or make a valid statement about something you actually have any kind of personal experience with? You do realize you're making people feel uncomfortable and hurt by these words, right? I think it would be much more empathetic and less biased of you if you had been trying to engage in dialogue and conversation.

I got a question, if I'm a transsexual, like I want just me sexual organs changed to male, but when I got that done and still dressed girlish if I felt like, what would that make me?

It makes you whatever you feel like it makes you. :) How would you like to identify? I would guess many people who have that particular identity would identify as a (trans)man with a feminine gender identity. Your sexual identity and gender identity don't have to be "coherent" according to the usual understanding/norms. Check out this infographic, I think it might be very helpful to you.…
