Cadillac and Dinosaurs Classic
The character of Hannah Dundee is an emissary from Wassoon (what used to be the District of Columbia) sent to City on the Sea (Manhattan) to promote trade and cultural exchanges. This is a convenient cover for her actual mission: to access pre-cataclysm archives of old printed books in hopes of learning what brought about the fall of industrial civilization. She finds a reluctant ally in the person of Jack Tenrec, an "Old Blood" mechanic adept at resurrecting ancient technology while retaining a healthy respect for the forces that triggered the cataclysm. Jack is adamantly opposed to much of Hannah's agenda, which he fears will upset the delicate balance between humans and their unpredictable (and at times very lethal) new environment. In time he and Hannah become not merely allies but lovers.
What I enjoy most about the series is watching Schultz's evolution as both storyteller and artist. His artwork in the closing chapters is nothing short of breathtaking. Aside from being gorgeous, Hannah is a fully dimensional human being and a perfect foil for the sometimes self-righteous (if well-intentioned) Tenrec--but I still enjoy seeing her hogtied and gagged in the trunk of a '53 Caddy. Nice work, geekling.
Its called "Cadillacs and Dinosaurs" and the comic book came first and is thousands of times better, darker and has more depth
The character is Hannah and she's the second most important character in the whole franchise
