Since I got fired I have been at home with my parents for awhile studying things such as pearl programing and design. I have touched up my resume and been trying to make a website andrewparker.info. I have a temporary page up there now but i'm working on a theme in jekyll that I am making from scratch. I don't have it quite right yet and I don't know If the design is going to give off the right impression. I had this cool idea to make a webpage that looks like you are at an old computer with the website on one side and a window looking outside on the other. But Idk if it looks professional enough to show to perspective bosses. It displays a lot of whimsy. For selling future games I may someday finish It could be perfect. about a month ago I hurt my arm and My car started having problems. since then I have been spending most of my time fixing my car myself. I figure since i'm between jobs right now I need to save money so I just fixed it myself. I swapped out the transmission and replaced the seals in the oil pump, which involved messing with the timing belt and dropping the oil pan. I also bent the window regulator back into place so I can properly roll up my windows. My arm has gotten better with time. My next order of business at this point is to try to find a job. I have a gamejam on oct 18th-the 21st I will probably come up with some sort of rough game demo on my itch.io page
geekdude.itch.io but as for now I really shouldnt be spending time on my hobbies I need to work on things that will help me get a job and be more employable such as learning programing and design skills, getting IT certifications and filing out job applications.
