My Bio

Hello, welcome!
thanks for visiting my profile.
I am living in Germany close to Frankfurt. Working as a consultant engineer I started sculpting as a hobby. Since 1998 I am working in wood and stone. From time to time I have pieces cast in bronze. My topic is, as you can easily see, the female torso in more or less abstract manner.

The artist and his work

23. MRZ – 21.

Yesterday there was the celebration of the sculpture park in Bad Vilbel - Massenheim. It dates back 15 years that the first sculptures have been in a park along the stream of the Erlenach in Bad Vilbel Massenheim. Meanwhile nearly 100 sculptures of around 50 artist had been exposed there, some are still there, some had been removed by the artists. Each year a handful of new works are added. This sculpture garden is public, not fenced, open all day and night, no access fee. And it is highly popular amongst the neighbors and other visitors. Since a couple of years my stone sculpture Fuß des Taunus (foot of the Taunus) is exposed there. This sculpture was worked during a symposium in Oberursel in 2013, a venue where we had access to a crane to help us manipulate the stone. This was urgently needed, as the basalt comun had a weight of 3,5 tons. Please see the blog on the Sculpture Project (in German language) here: https://auenkunst-massenheim.de/ The objects are presented here:

In January I started a new stone sculpture: as usual a female torso in balance. I had since quite some time a stone base from a very beautiful diabas stone. It was dark and very evenly fine grained. For me it was too beautiful to be left as a square cut base, for which I had no use. Consequently it was planned to convert it into a sculpture. I added a gallery with all the steps of the work until reaching the final product. See under: https://www.deviantart.com/gecko-online/gallery/78260555/process-of-sculpting-the-balance

Truly welcome! 🙏😇

Michael, your creative sculpture gallery is a powerful celebration of craftsmanship and imagination. The way you transform wood and stone into expressive works of art reveals not only technical mastery, but a deep understanding of each material’s natural character....Outstanding Artwork   :happybounce: ...................

Thanks a lot for the flowers and feedback. Glad you like my work!

Stay well yourself and have a great weekend, Michael
