Vision of Transcendence by gavin-valentine Vision of Transcendence by gavin-valentine
The doe vaulted through the trees and I followed. Searching for what seemed like eternity, scarcely seeing a sign of her. I wet my lips with my parched tongue — how long had it been? The trees that surrounded me parted for a narrow stream. I bent to satisfy my thirst, scooping the water to my eager lips. Then I felt eyes upon me. Looking up to see her brilliance reflected off the water. I paused so as not to startle her — our curiosities intertwined. Slowly, I took a step closer into the stream. She remained. Knee deep in the water. She remained. Water at my waist. She remained. I rushed closer, reaching out. She fled, scattering her light amongst the forest as she bounded away. Until we meet again, I sighed.
