GateKiller.co.uk Menu Design 1

This is a design for a tabbed menu system on my new website.

The entire menu has been designed in css and javascript. The gradient is produced by css and the hover effect is css and javascript together.

The research and development took about 15mins in total but the outcome is very powerful.

The site is still under development (as you can see from this lonely menu).

It is currently my main project and I will keep you posted via my journal!

I recently found an incredible tutorial online on how to do tabbed displays using nothing but CSS (even hovers in CSS) with layered graphics to make the tabs look like tabs. Personally I dislike menu effects that arn't pixel-perfect - try removing one pixel from the right side of all save the last item (thus having a one pixel border and one pixel spacer between each) and I'll like it a whole bunch more.

The specifications of the menu was to not use graphics to produce the output. I grant you that the tutorial does display a good looking tabbed menu, however, I am still developing it in pure css, html & jscript.

The main specification for the site is to produce a high quality, graphically impressive website with the minimal use of graphics so that the over head for the site is minimal.

I will however be looking over the site for hints and tips.

Thank you for your comments and the link
