WARNING! Carry on reading! Or you will die, even if you only looked at the word warning!
Once there was a little girl called Clarissa, she was ten-years-old and she lived in a mental
hospital, because she killed her mom and her dad. She got so bad she went to kill all the
staff in the hospital so the More-government decided that best idea was to get rid of her so
they set up a special room to kill her, as humane as possible but it went wrong the
machine they were using went wrong. And she sat there in agony for hours until she died.
Now every week on the day of her death she returns to the person that reads this letter, on
a Monday night at 12:00 a.m. She creeps into your room and kills you slowly, by cutting you
and watching you bleed to death. Now send this to ten other pictures on this one site, and
she will haunt someone else who doesn't. This isn't fake. apparently, if you copy and paste
this to ten comments in the next ten minutes you will have the best day of your life tomorrow. You
will either get kissed or asked out, if you break this chain u will see a little dead girl in your room

Fond memories of every game of Spore ever, countless worlds with some water, steam, and rocks and strange sights in the skies, you even have little crystals. This would have been an interesting location worthy of taking pics because of the gas giant and moons.

This is a well made representation of a jovian scene and a typical perspective from one of it's moons. Considering that a robust continuum of planets exists throughout the universe and how massive a planet can be it is wonderful to think a scene like this could actually be out there. Given a possibly several jovian massed planet, what if it had several moons around it of maybe a few Earth mass each, around a nearby star, wonderful to consider thanks.

Gorgeous piece, and it looks flawlessly integrated together.

I especially like the soft, muted range of blues going on here. It looks cosmic, artistic, and believable all at once without losing its visual "bang."

I have to ask, simply becuase it's been tricky to figure out how to do it in Photoshop. How do you get the ring shadows to fall on the planet like that? :O_o:

hehe, copy the ring layer, darken it and then warp it so it lays on the planet. I used more than this here. I added a dark line with the line tool which is warped too :) Perhaps this made it a little too dark....

Actually I think the shadows would *have* to be fairly stark in space. The contrast is nearly absolute with no atmosphere between the planet and the star to diffuse the light, or shadows, where they're cast.

As for your shadows, they looked spot-on to me, compared to my memory of actual photos of Saturn as taken by the Voyager probes. I was huge into astronomy as a kid, which is what led me into the realms of sci-fi. To this day I still have respect for artists who work to push some aspect of astronomy-based realism...maybe not 100%, since nobody really can tell what it's like out there.

But the effort taken here? Excellent.

Use the thermal springs as energy source? Destroy the landscape? Build a hotel?

I don't know but perhaps it's better humans do not find this place... :)

I would like to think that by the time we're off colonizing new planets we would at least have the common sense to maintain them so as not to repeat history.
