Yes there is, Twilight. They grew old and died in the past. You saw it happen with your own eyes. If they never were to come back from their trip to the future, it would be a huge bloody paradox and the space/time-continuum would rip itself apart. Need I continue?
MyLittlePrimo's avatar
OOOOH, she's taking them captive, like Count Dracula! This is interesting!

Okay if someone would do this to me, than I would run far away

Also what's the definition of those new changelings?

They have red main?

My hair is naturally red. Does that mean I might get accused?
bruiser128's avatar
It is easy that this Twilight has become the Equestrian Stalin.
marinus18's avatar
I believe Twilight, I think it is something she would believe.

... I detect a hint of desperation in that last panel.

A predestination paradox, maybe, for why they can't stay?  Can't see them die if they don't go back in time.
heavens-champion's avatar
Because if they do, it will have dire effects on the time-space continuum. Time travel 101.

One mistake and you're screwed

I find Twilights subterfuge to be crude and simple, she is clearly capable of more subtle things and Rarity is being a door mat, so basicaly everyone is at fault here.
websplorer's avatar
Uh, a shitload of paradoxes is a good enough reason?
tigreanpony's avatar
And here comes the possible paradox. Though it would be better if they returned to where they belong, the time will always try to repair itself and usually not in a good way.
SwiftestShadow's avatar
Never mind the time travel issues, let's hit a logical counterargument: It would be better if they went back to the past. They would be in constant danger if they remained, and a friend does not put another friend in danger if they can help it. Not to mention if Twilight's truly bound to the prophecy, then their presence here is also putting her in constant danger. Returning would make things safe for everyone.

If one of them says that, and Twilight still clings to them, then she's well and truly lost reason.
Daybreak-Fan's avatar
No offense but this Twilight has gone off the deep end.
IcarusHector's avatar
TIMESTREAMS TWILIGHT! You tried to get around them nearly a thousand years ago, so I understand you not remembering,if you even are the real Twilight, but things could get nasty if you do this.
kacript's avatar
Careful Rarity, right now you are treading on some dangerously thin ice.

But.. paradox...
gabrielthewolf15's avatar
I can give so may reason why but I think everyone else has it covered
She saw Rarity as an old mare, so theydo go back at some point
Aroddo's avatar
this really only depends on which time-travel-theory any author wants to follow.
that's why 99% of all time-travel stories suck.
CameoFiasco's avatar
OK either I missed it but what's the difference between a regular changeling and a crimson one?
