New Blender open movie, spread the wordif you're unfamiliar with the blender open movies, in the past they've been short films that have been used to test, push, and improve what blender can do. i'll post them all below.
if you're unfamiliar with [blender], it's an free and open source 3d modeling/animation software that also has a game engine, video sequence editor, compositing, video/camera tracking, sculpting, etc. it's got a wide range of useful features, the widest range out of any software i've got. it's used for things from 3d modeling and animation to architectural visualization to game creation to VFX, to scientific simulations on supercomputers and they've made it available for free. here's a link if you want to check it out [blender].
now back to the open movies. everything in these movies (including the movies themselves) is released under creative commons license so it's available to the public to use, learn fro

Infinite Contest- Winner + Runner ups!We have received many beautiful submissions for our contest and it has been difficult to pick a winner. However, the wait is over! Here are the results:
Winner: moukitsu - "Antikythera"
"The Antikythera Mechanism is an ancient orrery much alike to the astronomical clock that we know today. It was used to predict astronomical positions for calendrical purposes. Since it was also used to predict when can people see certain constellations, I used the famous constellation Andromeda, the chained princess, to also represent that the artifact is from the country Greece. The artifact was found on the Antikythera shipwreck thus explaining the sea theme, the pieces of wood, and the silhouette of a shipwreck at the background. You can also see the artifact which is composed of gears and is rusted while buried in the sand."
Runner up: toriily - "Spectrum"
Hair Texturing on Nano :PYay did some DA profile updating. Fixed my buttons. Still have some work to do but at least things are less broken.
I've spent the last day working on Nano's hair. Its usually one of the harder texture maps to do but I have a system down that reduces the stress some. You still have to be an artist and consider anime style when doing the work so my methods wont make models super awesome without the talent.
So no surprise I use mudbox to help me deal with complex shapes on a object that has crazy uv's and seams. I can't really explain how to use it. Some things you have to figure out on your own. But I make a few layers with lines like this to help me on the next step.
Next I head over to PaintTool SAI where I use my lines I made to help deal with seams caused by UV cuts on the model. I like SAI because the brushes are way higher quality then mudbox currently. Just with SAI you can't paint on a 3d model so I use both software to do the job. I use illustration skills to paint my
REQUESTS (Closed)Cancelled requests and am not accepting them atm
Requests are now open again! Please read the red bullets as I've made some changes to the rules. The requested item should be finished during the week.
ONLY 2 pieces per request, if I'm working on your request then refrain from requesting me again until your first request is done.
NONE of the requested items are to be used in commissions, adoptables or any way of making profit.
If requested item is un-rippable (aka my programs can't read the item's code) then I'll send you a note with specified item. I do not accept links to sites in unkown language (some exceptions) and/or confusing download button. If you'd still like the item, download it from said website and send it to me by mediafire, sta.sh, dropbox or 4shared.
Artbook contests! There's a couple going on right now so here's a journal to promote all of the really cool Artbook contests happening atm!!
For those of you who might not know what an artbook is, they're anthology projects where artists are published into physical books! Often they're charity projects with the money going to really good causes ;0;;
I'm involved in all of these books as either a contributing artist or a mod, so please take a look at them!
A little short notice for this contest, but I did make a journal for it back when it was first announced- for anyone who has the time, maybe you'd be interested in the Happy Endings Artbook contest! Only 4 days left!
This one I'm helping run! I'll be trying to contribute prizes (art) personally!
This project is pretty new!! I'm really in love with the theme *___*
Please check out the journals linked for full
