Finally got around to checking this out - I love it! You'll have to color it in for us. :)

Since I am completely n00b to the whole comics world, especially the superheroes/supervillains Marvel/DC stuff that apparently has more hardcore nitpickers than Star Trek, feel free to ignore the following comment(s). But I was thinking it might look even better (creepier) if it was more of a crumpled paper texture than a cloth wrap. Or maybe a coarser burlap or something. Something that looks painful and scratchy. :) And the rope could be wrapped around more than once for a noose-like quality. But I'm probably straying from the official character there...

I do so love the evil scarecrows... }:^)

Thanks! There's not really an 'official' look to any of the Batman characters. People seem to take liberties with them all the time, which makes them fun to do.

I was going for a burlap-y texture originally, but it didn't really come through that way. Color and material variation changes a lot though.

The noose idea was used really well in the New Batman Adventures version of him: [link] [link]

Yeah, coloring does tend to make all the diff in 3D.

And for what it's worth, I think your scarecrow is way better than the linked one. I like the new batman style and all, but - as shown with the joker - there's a lot more Scary in a simple child's toy become sinister than any complicated gross-out monster. Those cute widdle button eyes!!! ;)

Hehehe, thanks! :)

Nice work. Out of curiosity, are those all fully subdivided? Or are some with normal maps? I'm just asking because you show the base mesh, without all the detail, but i'm having trouble seeing any sharp edges on the outlines of the detailed ones! Very good job with that :) also, what software are you using to detail your mesh?

Thanks! Those are all fully subdivided ZBrush renders so no normal maps. Everything was done in ZBrush.

Cool. Thanks. :)

wow. I definitely didn't notice that you wrote ZBrush there. You can ignore that last question =P
