Centauress Race by gamera1985 Centauress Race by gamera1985
She's doing an equestrian race... and I hope she will win ^^

I wonder what would be life for centaurs if thay have to do races like horses of today... will they be "properties" of rich people, and be obliged to have babies with other champion centaurs? or maybe just racers with a contract?

I would think that centaurs would just be racers with contracts due to the general aversion to slavery in modern times.

whether solo race running or sulky harness racing; if the given Centaur is a willing participant, then its not slavery ;-)

I like that  determined look she has. Strength of will is always attractive and inspiring. And of course, her design is itself beautiful. I have to wonder, how different people would treat their centaurs.  Would there be some sort of civil rights movement, or would it be just an accepted thing?

I would say that she is very dedicated. But a sports bra would do wonders for her over that stripper "shirt" and whats with the crop? Extra motivation?

Very good drawing and the anatomy seems to be good, don't know that much so can't tell you if its better sorry.

Kinda weird to have pubic hair at the bottom of the human torso when her actual genitals are below her tail. But, good anatomy, great horse drawing.

That's an interesting thought, I imagine they might live much as sport stars live today; overpaid, media celebrities prone to the occasional scandal.

would be interesting to see a centaur race picture rather than just the one jockey. But that is so cool to see even just the one heehee. Love that lil strapping on the foreleg too.

A very interesting picture!

I have a setting where racing centaurs are genetically engineered; although their lower bodies look a bit more like tall, thoroughbred horse-sized greyhounds. And in that setting ...

I wonder what would be life for centaurs if thay have to do races like horses of today ... will they be "properties" of rich people ...

Yes. The very wealthy have stables of competing "Kentucky-class" racing horses. In general they are pampered, particularly the males, although, due to their odd conformation (reduced digestive system), they don't live as long as other genetically engineered centaurs.

... and be obliged to have babies with other champion centaurs?

Yes. Not so bad with the stallions; but neither the males nor the females generally have much choice about who they are able to mate with.

... or maybe just racers with a contract?

Well, if the racing centaur isn't good enough to get a contract, he (or she, although most mares are bred as soon as they reach maturity) are culled. (What a eumphemism!)

If you have genetic engineering sufficient to create something like a centaur in the first place, why would you bother with selective breeding?  You can get exactly what you want, you don't need to to do it the old-fashioned way.  Unless its out of sheer sadism, which is generally a poor way to run a business, or an empire.
