Voelkerwanderung - The Migration Era

By Gambargin
128 Favourites
With the conclusion of the previous part regarding the ancient Germanic people that concluded with the Marcomannic wars, this series will now move on to the era which defined the future of the Roman Empire and the creation of the medieval state of Europe, the Migration Period better known in German as the "Völkerwanderung" :D

This part will aim to portray what caused these Germanic tribes to migrate and how they formed into the permanent federation of tribes we know today, like the Goths (Ostrogoths and Visigots) and the Vandals. Other settled tribes such as the Franks, Allemanis and Langobards will also be explored, in addition to the Saxons as well as the Scandinavian Germanic tribes. The later part of the series will move to the early middle ages where the once Germanic tribes have now transformed into early feudal christian kingdoms, that laid the foundation of the medieval states we know today :)
