Damaged Goods by gallery215 Damaged Goods by gallery215
About this piece
Based on the title of this piece, the implied meaning should be obvious but there are many ways people become "damaged goods". We all accumulate our invisible band-aids as we go through life. There is also a hidden story behind this piece. The model used to do fashion work but she was in a bad car accident which left large scars across her stomach, arms, and legs.

The original file is 24" x 36" @ 300ppi. Nothing in this piece was manipulated digitally other than the colors. The model did not mind me placing 296 adhesive bandages on her body, one at a time. Removing them was a different story.

About this series
This piece is part of the Digital Solarization series. Please note the gallery215.com watermark is not part of the artwork. All of the Digital Solarization pieces start as photographs shot on black and white film. The negative is scanned and colored by hand, not with filters, in photoshop. As in traditional darkroom solarization, parts of the image are rendered positive while other parts remain as if viewing the negative. This series is influenced by the works of Man Ray.
