Orphan of war raised at Northshire, Garien has been often picked on by her human peers for being 'ugly'. Being the only high elf at the abbey for quite a long time has only reinforced this behavior, as young humans often tend to attack anything that is different. It has lead to the point of her being always on the defensive, snapping at everyone, even those who show her kindness.
She has grown bitter and resentful, harboring a profound dislike for humans. The priests of Northshire did all they could to prevent this, but Garien’s bullies always found a way. When The Brigade’s recruiter arrived to the Abbey in search of young, talented healers, she did not hesitate to sign up with the mercenaries. However, she has found it difficult to adjust and adapt to the mercenary life, always firing the shots against both friend or foe.
Her salvation finally arrived in the form of transfer to House Vex, where she serves to this day as a house guard healer. More importantly, she has finally managed to find a couple of people she was able to ‘tolerate’ and call friends. What more, after a long adjustment period, she's managed to finally find a little bit of (quite unusual) romance. However, that does not protect any of her new acquaintances from her sharp tongue.
I have been working on some large pieces before Christmas, and needed a bit of a break, so I have decided to do a quick practice b/w portrait of this unusual high elf. I hope you like her, despite her snappy personality!
