GalaxyFrame

I've got these really detailed drawings floating around in my head, but I just can't get them to work on paper... I've concluded that it might be the supplies I'm using. Right now, I just use assorted mechanical pencils on assorted sketchbooks and I blend with assorted stumps. And so, I'm asking you for help... what sort of pencils or other tools do you think would work best for my style of art? I'd like to get as detailed as possible. Most of my work is done at school, so I can't use a huge workspace (though that would probably help a lot). I feel so restricted right now, I know I can do better.I'll look into as many suggestions as I can....
