Kalypso Vs. Kazumi by gagaman92 Kalypso Vs. Kazumi by gagaman92
Well here is something I wanted to do for a long time.

Basically I wanted Kazumi (my OC) and Kalypso (from Donkey Kong Barrel Blast) to have an argument about their differences.

It's safe to say that Nintendo had to create additional characters on the Kremlings border. But I really don't know how they came up with characters... such as Kalypso. Some characters were re-imaginings of old Kremlings, like Klump, Kludge and Kopter... but the other ones came out of nowhere and they don't have a lot of backstory either.

Kalypso is probably the most unique, cuz we've never really seen any adult female Kremlings... EVER!! :o

Although I've created Kazumi a long time before Donkey Kong Barrel Blast was released... so yaaaahhhhhh! :P

Mahhh dammmm they have big... erm... hair. :XD:

I wonder why K. Rool had mostly male servants and only two females...

Great job on both characters :D

We’ve never seen any female Kremling, Kalipso and Kass were the first.

Klump and Kopter aren’t new characters. They’re old characters that have been redesigned. Kludge is based on muscular Kremlins (Krucha, Kruncha, Krumple, etc.) but he’s actually a new character that is exclusive to DK: Barrel Blast.

I personally loved the new Kremlins characters. They had unique designs and it was nice to see some single characters instead of an enemy group (like Kritters and Kruchas for example). It was strange that they just appeared but they’re not really the first Kremlins that came out of nowhere. The first was Klubba from DKC2, the second was Krunch from DKR and the third was K.Lumsy from DK64.

As for the lack of background story didn’t really bother since even Rare (you know, before they were bought by Microsoft) didn’t seem to care much for character development and they were also notorious for making new characters out of nowhere.

At least with Kip, Kass, Kalioso and Kludge you got to know about them in the European version of their trophies from Smash Bros. (you can read it in Wikipedia).
